Start and end your day with these 2 technology transforming tips

Are you the type of person that wakes up and heads right for your smartphone, tablet device or laptop to check email and social networking updates? or are you the other type of person that comes home from a long day at work and the first thing you reach for is the TV remote?  Either way, it doesn’t matter, I am proposing you break these habits and here’s why.

Immediately connecting yourself to technology in the morning or right before you go to sleep can build up unnecessary anxiety in you and put your body and mind into emergency or crisis mode, and, as a result, your day gets kicked off or wrapped up the wrong way. Nobody wants that. I am sure you would agree.

Instead try implementing these 2 transforming tips:

#1 – Gradually start your day with technology – Allow yourself 30 minutes to wake up, get some coffee, eat breakfast before you take a nose dive into your technology devices. You don’t just jump in a cold shower do you? You feel the water and when its warm enough you get in.

#2 – Take time to unwind from it at the end of your day - Same applies here, allow yourself 30 minutes after you get home to unwind. Do something that doesn’t involve technology. You spend all day interacting with it, so find some tech-free activities you can engage yourself in. Things like going on a bike ride, taking a hike, working out at the gym, hanging out with friends, eating dinner together with your spouse and kids, etc.

It’s definitely not an easy thing to do but with a little change in your behavior, it is possible. Try it out for a week and let me know how you do!
